De-Min and Chin-Sha Wu Award

Dr. De-Min Wu is a renowned econometrician who taught at KU for 35 years (1964 to 1999). He is credited with development of the Wu-Hausman Test, an important tool to evaluate the endogeneity of a variable. Dr. Wu’s children, Lawrence Wu and Clara Wu Tsai, both of whom grew up in Lawrence, contributed $100,000 to establish the De-Min and Chin-Sha Wu Faculty Award to honor their parents.
The fund provides for a rotating award to honor excellence among associate professors in the Economics Department. The recipient shall receive the title, De-Min and Chin-Sha Wu Associate Professor of Economics, for the term of the award along with ~$5,000 per year in spendable funds. The term of the award is 3 years (or less) and may be renewed for one additional term.
