Admission Requirements

Masters Students

MA, MA/JD, and non-degree-seeking applications are due:

      November 1 (for Spring term) 

      May 1 (for Fall or Summer)

• Non-Degree Seeking. Students who are interested in enrolling in graduate level coursework in the Department of Economics without formal admission to a graduate program at KU are encouraged to apply for graduate non-degree seeking student status.

PhD application deadline:

December 15 (for Fall term)

• Note: December 15 is the primary PhD deadline, everyone who has submitted an application by December 15 will be considered for financial assistance. For PhD applicants who are not requesting funding, Fall admissions is open through February 1. Again, those who submit applications December 16 - February 1, will only be considered for admission-only offers.
• Due to the structure of the first two years of the PhD program Spring admissions are not recommended.
