Harry Shaffer Memorial Fund

The Harry Shaffer Memorial Fund is conceived as a self-sustaining endowment that will support activities consistent with the Fund’s dual objectives of assisting those in need in their pursuit of a college degree and promoting Harry’s commitment to social justice, civil rights, and equal treatment of all people. Allocations from the Fund, or grants, will be used to further the goals of social justice, civil rights, and equal treatment of all people.

In keeping with the philosophy of the KU Chabad Center as well as the legacy values of Harry Shaffer, individuals who apply for grants can be of any age, race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Further information will be available at the KU Chabad's website. The initial endowment will be established via an online fund-raising effort hosted by the KU Chabad Center. To incentivize online donations, certain donors have agreed to provide matching funds up to $50,000.
