Meet Our first-Year Grad Students!


Arindam Chatterjee

I am a first-year student in the Ph.D. (Economics) program at the University of Kansas. My passion for economic research led me here after completing my graduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Calcutta. I want to work in macroeconomic modeling, monetary policy, and time series econometrics. I like to do coding. I'm very passionate about machine learning, and deep learning. In the future, I want to teach Economics at a University and contribute to the field of Economics through my research work.

Ning Ma

Hello! My name is Ning Ma. I graduated in economics from Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics (China). Then, I got my master’s degree also in economics from Vanderbilt University (US). My primary research interests are in macroeconomics and monetary economics. I hope to contribute to the economic literature in my future research endeavors and I desire to pursue a career in academia. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, watching movies and hanging out with my friends.

Vuong Nguyen

Hello, I'm Vuong Nguyen, a first-year PhD. economics student at the University of Kansas. I have a master's degree in economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. My research interest is microeconomic theory. After completing the program, I hope to continue pursuing an academic career to contribute to the body of knowledge in economics.

Seonghan Cho

I am Seonghan Cho from the South Korea. I received my Bachelor in History and Master in Economics, from the Korea University, Seoul. My research interest is in Economic theory and Macroeconomics.

 

Kangzheng Ding

Kangzheng Ding is a first-year Ph.D. student and graduate teaching assistant for the Department of Economics. He decided to become an economist while completing his undergraduate studies in accounting and finance. He enjoys contemplating economic insights and investigating the empirical facts. His research interests include Applied Microeconomics, Game Theory, Mechanism Design and Empirical Evidence Studies. After getting his PhD, he would be a professional economic researcher in universities or other institutions.
