Peer-Reviewed Articles Appearing in 2023

The Department of Economics at KU is within the top quartile of the Scholarly Research Index (SRI) of Economics PhD-granting institutions indexed by Academic Analytics. SRI is a measure of research activity across academic disciplines that reflects scholarly publications, citations, books, federal grants, awards, and professional conference proceedings. The Department’s current SRI reflects the department’s work over the years 2019-2022 and is comparable to Economics departments at major institutions within the Big XII and elsewhere.

Driving our rankings in the SRI is the department’s standings in terms of articles per faculty member, grants per faculty, and citations per faculty.  Importantly, the research published by KU Economics faculty has been cited in peer reviewed journals, conference presentations, and chapters more than 10,000 times over the past 5 years alone, with an average of about 1000 citations per faculty member since 2018.

Below, please find a list of our publications in peer-reviewed articles in 2023 (to date).  You can visit our Experts page at KU Discovery for additional articles, grants, books, and chapters indexed by Academic Analytics.
