Ph.D Graduates Highlights

Aryaman Bhatnagar

I graduated from The University of Kansas in May 2023. My dissertation was on Monetary Policy in New Keynesian Models. I am currently working at East Tennessee State University, where I have secured a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Economics. In June 2023, my paper titled “Monetary Policy with Non-Ricardian Households” was published in The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.

Since graduating from KU, I have embarked on a new chapter in my academic career as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oberlin College. This semester, I am instructing courses in Principles of Economics and Labor Economics. My teaching experiences at KU have been instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition into this new role.

Moreover, I recently had the privilege to deliver a guest lecture at Oberlin College (Professor's talk), where I shared insights on my dissertation topics, mainly related to gender economics. Witnessing the students' genuine interest and engagement in the subject was inspiring. I've even had several students reach out to me to discuss the research topics or want to be my RA. As an applied microeconomist, I deeply appreciate the robust faculty background and guidance I received at KU, which has significantly shaped my career trajectory.

Looking ahead, I am excited to attend the upcoming SEA conference this November and eager to anticipate the opportunity to reconnect with KU economists!
